If you live in an older home or apartment and have a porcelain tub, you may have encountered rust stains. To get rid of them, just sprinkle some salt directly onto the rust and then squeeze a lime over the rust until it is good and soaked. Leave the mixture on for about three minutes and scrub off the residue with a piece of lime rind.

It’s easy to spot a rookie when it comes to cleaning upright surfaces. They use a regular cleaner that runs down the surface making a mess. And since the cleaner hasn’t had time to do its job, they’ve got to use a lot more elbow grease to get it clean. Upright surfaces clean easier with a foaming tub and tile cleaner like Dow Foaming Bubbles. It adheres to the surface giving the cleaner time to break down the grease or dirt. Use it under the hood of the stove, refrigerator walls, oven door, ice chest, etc. and you’ll do a lot less scrubbing.

I found out the hard way that marble countertops stain easily, so wipe spills immediately and always dry them to prevent water spots. Also, don’t use vinegar or orange-based cleaners to clean them. The acid in them will damage the surface. But peroxide is safe for stain removal.
