I recently moved into a new apartment and I have a real problem. The floors in here really show scuff marks. I have left black heel marks all over the place. It’s reached the point where it’s embarrassing to me for someone to come over. I have mopped and mopped, but I can’t get them up. Help!
Most heel marks are made when a small amount of rubber is scuffed off of the bottom of a shoe and attaches itself to your floor. Rarely will mopping alone get the marks up because you need something to actually rub off the rubber. One of the best ways to take care of heel marks is to use a pencil eraser. But before you run to that catch-all drawer in your kitchen in search of an old Number 2, consider going to the drugstore and getting a big eraser that you used to take to school. It’s a whole lot easier to use and has more surface area to get up more of the mark at once. You’ll just have to sweep up all the left over “eraser squigglies” when you’re finished.
