How do you remove wax from candles that have dripped onto table or counter top surfaces?

Hi Martina,
Candle wax is not impossible to remove, even from soft fibers like carpet or upholstery. How you approach it, though, is going to vary depending on the surface. You've already said a hard surface, like a table or countertop, but are we talking about grandma's highly polished solid oak table, or just any old surface? If it's high-gloss stained wood, it's going to take more effort because the stain is likely damaged also. Let's assume for this answer, that the surface is willing to take a little wear. In which case, let the wax completely dry, because it will be easier to flake off. Once dried, you can use a plastic putty knife (covered in a soft cloth for delicate surfaces) to scrape off the wax. You may have to take it off in layers. Setting ice in a sandwich bag over the area for about five minutes will allow it to harden more, making it even easier to remove.
Hope that works!
