How do you get water stains off of granite?

Hi Teri,
Properly sealed granite countertops should not stain permanently, however if water spots are a recurring issue, it may be that you have hard water in your area. This is also evident by mineral deposits on and around faucets and fixtures. To remove hard water, there are some cleaning agents that are acid based available at your local hardware store, but we wouldn't recommend using these on your countertops. You may try to use vinegar. First apply vinegar and wipe clean. If the stains persist, mix vinegar with baby powder or flour to make a paste. Apply the paste to the stained area and cover with plastic wrap. Let this sit overnight, and in the morning remove the plastic, but leave the paste and allow it to dry. When the paste has dried, wipe away.
Thanks
