Hi Jessica,

Merry Maids understands completely. Stainless steel appliances look great when shiny and clean, but streaks and hard water stains can really diminish the look of your dishwasher. There are some basic products that might help you.

Vinegar is a natural cleaner and polisher. Simply moisten a cloth with undiluted white or cider vinegar and wipe clean. Can also be used to remove heat stains on stainless steel cutlery.

Now to keep to remove streaks and keep the water stains at bay, we often use a lemon oil product diluted with a gallon of water, but you may use Murphy’s Oil Soap or even olive oil. If you use olive oil, you want to apply a small amount to a soft cloth and rub over the entire surface. Sometimes club soda may be used to remove streaks or heat stains from stainless steel by rubbing with club soda.

To keep the dishwasher shining, you may want to apply a thin layer of RainX, the product that is in the auto section that causes rainwater to bead up on windshields. This or a similar product can help prevent the water from penetrating to the surface.

Have a great day!

Merry Maids
